Our family farm consists of Brad, Nicole, our five children, and Brad's father, Glen. The
farm was a dairy for several decades until the mid 1990's. Until recently, with the
exception of some hay production the farm remained idle. In 2005 We gained interest in the growing demand for grass
fed beef. After much research we were convinced that the Devon breed was the best choice for our operation. Our
cattle are in the most comfortable setting possible. They are never locked up and are free to continually graze during
the grass season. During the winter months they are fed in the barn, but are able to go in and out as they please.
This arrangement works well for two reasons. One, shelter is provided during the harsh New England winters, and two
we are able to retain the manure for fertilization of the hay fields. Our cattle are fed only grass, dry hay, and mineral
supplements. We use no antibiotics or growth hormones. It is our goal to produce the best genetics possible and
to become a reputable top seed stock producer. We believe farmers don't farm to become rich, but do it because they love the
lifestyle. With that philosophy in mind, we aim to sell our cattle at reasonable and honest rates.
Cattle comfort is a top priority at Local Boys Farm.
